Lloyd “Buck” M. Eiden, age 81 of Plover, WI died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday March 31, 2015 at Ministry St. Clare’s hospital in Weston.
He was born May 6, 1933 in the Town of Stockton. He is the son of the late Carl and Mary (Simonis) Eiden. Buck entered the US Air Force on Aug. 20, 1952. He Served during the Korean War and received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged Aug. 19, 1956. His marriage to Nancy Wanserski took place on May 28, 1960 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Custer, WI. She survives.
Buck worked for Consolidated Paper Wisconsin River Division for 34 years, retiring in 1995. After his retirement he worked as a handyman for Club Forest in Plover and then part time at the SPCC golf course. He is a member of the American Legion Plover Post 543. Buck’s hobbies were going to and watching the Green Bay Packer games, baseball, taking care of his lawn, golfing, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife Nancy, one son: Scott M. Eiden of Custer, 2 daughters: Lori (Dale) Kluck of Custer, Holly (Bob) Garvin of Appleton, 3 Grandsons: Shane and Seth Kluck and Christopher Garvin.
Preceded in death by: his parents Carl and Mary Eiden, 2 brothers: Robert and Harold Eiden, 6 sisters: Eileen Eiden, Marge Kulka, Carolyn Bronk, Marion Sankey, Patricia Eiden, and Rita Wanserski. Also several brother/sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. Monsignor Jeffrey Burrill will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home at 2911 Plover Road, Plover, WI and from 9:30 AM until the time of services Tuesday morning at the Church.
There will be an American Legion ritual at 6:45 PM and a general rosary prayed at 7:00 PM on Monday evening at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at the St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial in his name will be established.
Buck lived in Plover on his family homestead for over 80 yrs. He loved just being at home, taking care of his lawn & garden, painting, having good times with his many friends, and spending time with his family and his 3 special grandsons. He will be dearly missed.
