Kenneth E. Higgins, 83, of Plover, WI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, April 5, 2015. He was born July 25, 1931 in Plover to Jesse and Etta (Parks) Higgins.
He was inducted into the U.S. Army on February 7, 1952. Kenneth served 2 years active duty and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on February 17, 1954 as a Korean War Veteran.
Kenneth married Shirley Copeland on July 3, 1954. He enjoyed coaching and watching baseball, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife Shirley, five children; Donna (Doug Mc Canna), Larry, Ronald (Yvonne Thompson), Mary (Ed Mullins) & Raymond (Sandy Brown) Higgins. One brother: Jesse Higgins Jr. and one sister: Lila Roback. Kenneth had 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Gary, Frank & Gale and two sisters: Marge Altenburg & Katie Slack. His sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday April 9, 2015 at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 2911 Plover Road in Plover. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in the Meehan cemetery.
