Irene A. Rader, 88, of Stevens Point, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Wellington Place in Whiting.
She was born on Sep. 22, 1926, in Milwaukee, to the late George and Elizabeth (Petrowski) Schultz. On Jan. 31, 1959, her marriage to Joseph Rader took place at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Joseph died on Jan. 12, 2009.
Irene had worked as a sander and inspector at Joerns Furniture for 30 years before her retirement. Her interests included playing bingo, fishing with her husband, traveling and the birds at Wellington Place. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include daughter, Shirley “Sissy” Bronk of Stevens Point; son, Anthony “Tony” (Sandi) Bronk of Stevens Point; daughter, Joanne (Wayne Lamb) Hay of Sparta; and son, Joseph Rader, Jr. of Stevens Point; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Simonis of Lake Tomahawk; sister, Gennie Kinich of Wauwatosa; brother, George (Darlene) Schultz, Jr. of Illinois; sister, Nancy Schultz of West Allis; and brother, Dennis “Cubby” Schultz of Arkansas.
In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Rae Bronk; brother, Leonard Schultz; and sisters, Dorothy Hickey and Margaret Baltz.
The family thanks the staff of Wellington Place, Ministry Hospice and financial guardian Ann for their care of Irene.
The funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point, with the Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating. Burial will take place in Guardian Angel Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Monday.
