Mostly sunny with a high of 72- that’s what onlookers for the Trivia Parade can expect this afternoon for the start of this year’s annual event.
The parade is the kick-start for the World’s Largest Trivia Contest, transforming heavily-trafficked roadways into empty streets come 6 PM, when thousands will be inside crowded around their radios to hear the first question of the 54- hour contest.
Parade floats begin their journey at 4 PM, snake around neighborhoods near the UWSP campus and tossing candy to the kids. The floats range from the dignified to the outrageous, delivering a visual spectacle absent from most modern parades.
The parade route follows:
Starting in Lot Q
West on Maria Drive to Isadore Street, Turn left.
South on Isadore Street to Portage Street, Turn left.
East on Portage Street to Phillips Street, Turn right.
South on Phillips Street to College Avenue, Turn left.
East on College Street to Reserve, Turn left.
North on Reserve to High Street, Turn right.
East on High to Fremont Street, Turn right.
South on Fremont to Simms Avenue, Turn left.
East on Simms into the P.J. Jacobs parking lot.
