Officials from the city have scheduled a farewell gathering for interim Mayor Gary Wescott on Monday, bringing to a close the duties for the longest-serving mayor in the city’s history.
Wescott was previously elected to three consecutive terms in the city’s top seat, but continued to participate by way of various board and committees, to include the city’s Police and Fire Commission, since he left office.
The mayor was pinged late last year to replace former Mayor Andrew Halverson, who left office five months early. Wescott’s administration officially ends Monday at midnight.
The farewell gathering will be held on Monday at 10 AM at the police department, 1515 Strongs Ave, in Conference Rooms A and B. The public is invited, and a quorum of the City Council may also be present.
