For the City Times
Join the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) on Saturday, May 2, as it works to improve the ReNew the Earth Institute grounds in scenic Custer, WI.
Move Some Earth Day takes place from 9 AM to 5 PM and happens rain or shine. Typical volunteer tasks include landscaping, painting picnic tables, assisting with office work and preparing mailings for Energy Fair promotion and MREA membership.
The MREA will provide a light breakfast, a tasty lunch and conclude the day with dinner and drinks. Feel free to volunteer the entire day, one hour or anything in between. Everyone is welcome. Bring gloves, rakes, tools and outdoor work clothing.
Bike to Move Some Earth Day
A bicycle group ride is happening on Saturday, May 2, in Portage County. Meet other members of the group at 8 AM by the Sundial on the UW-Stevens Point campus. Seasoned rider and 2015 Energy Fair presenter Melissa Haack will lead the ride. The 20-mile round trip ride takes you on mostly flat terrain and will stop at ReNew the Earth Institute. The MREA is offering $10 off day and weekend passes to The 26th Energy Fair, June 19-21, to anyone in the group ride who volunteers during Move Some Earth Day.
Do you have a spare set of silverware or just a few random forks that mysteriously appeared in your kitchen? Please consider donating to the silverware drive. The MREA is interested in all silverware donations, large and small, as it continues to use real silverware for The Energy Fair. Please bring all donations with you to Move Some Earth Day to help make the Fair as sustainable an event as possible.
