A bale of turtles soak of some sun in the pond at Bukolt Park on Tuesday.
Warm temps have caused a spike in activity this week with anglers, families picnicking and, most recently, this week’s walleye tournament sponsored by the Stevens Point Police Officers Organization.
The park is home to a boat ramp, skateboard park, a beach, two playgrounds and several spots for fishing. Several residents also watch the city’s annual fireworks display from there, as it is less crowded than the nearby Pfiffner Pioneer Park.
The park borders the Wisconsin River.
