A Manawa woman has been convicted of her part in November’s armed robbery at the Wigwam Inn in the Town of Alban.
Destiny Clinton, 18, faces 40 years in prison after being convicted of armed robbery, trespassing, criminal damage to property and resisting or obstructing an officer. Two other men involved in the crime, Tanner Raymond, 20, and 24 year-old Harlon Raymond, will stand trial in June.
The three are accused of robbing the Wigwam Inn. Shortly before 1 AM on November 30, two suspects entered the bar with an assault rifle, later escaping to a waiting car.
Following the robbery, a Portage County Sheriff’s Department deputy observed a suspicious car traveling south on Highway 49. The suspects jumped from the vehicle and hid in a nearby wooded area. The unoccupied car came to a stop after rolling in a ditch.
Clinton and Tanner and Harlon Raymond were later found in the basement of a residence in Rosholt. Police found $1,400 in cash and the assault rifle used in the robbery.
Clinton was found guilty and held on bond until July 21, when she will be sentenced.
