The Pacelli Cardinals continued their winning ways on Saturday as they picked up wins against Thorp and Chequamegon.
Pacelli defeated Thorp 11-4 and Chequamegon 8-5.
Against Thorp, the Cardinals once again got production from Sydney Alery. Alery went 3-4 in the game with a triple, two runs scored and three RBI.
Nicole Schroeder was also 3-4 and scored three runs for the Cardinals.
In all, Pacelli had 11 hits while starting pitcher Brook Nagorski limited Thorp to just six hits. Nagorski picked up the win, striking out four in seven innings of work.
“We took the ball where their pitcher pitched it and had some nice plays,” said Pacelli coach Ann Molski. “Good strong win for our girls.”
Pacelli continued its hot hitting against Chequamegon.
Schroeder went 3-4 again and scored three runs, while Sami Kay Shafranski was 4-5 with three runs scored.
Sarah Mitch drove in three runs for Pacelli.
Meanwhile, Kaylee Krostag was solid in the circle, going seven inning and allowing just two earned runs while striking out seven.
“We scored every inning through the fifth with solid patience at the plate,” said Molski. “Once again we were patient at the plate and took the ball where it was pitched. It was a good day for our team as a whole.”
