The Stevens Point Area Retired Teachers Association will hold a book and audio-visual bag sale on June 3-5 in anticipation of their move to a new facility.
The sale will be held at the former Jackson Elementary School and is designed to unload a lot of inventory. After three years in the same spot, SPARTA will need to move their book sales due to the new Point of Discovery charter school and Professional Development Center for the Stevens Point School District.
During the sale which runs from 9 AM to 8 PM each day, shoppers can buy a grocery bag full of books and AV materials for $5 on June 3 and 4.
On June 5, shoppers can get two bags for $5.
“Community members can help us move while choosing from more than 7,000 books, in addition to the CDs, DVDs, VHS and books on tape,” said Nancy Kemmeter, SPARTA Book Committee co-chair. “We had our best sale ever in April, but have many books remaining along with additional books added to the gym and Collector’s Room.”
At the group’s sale in April, SPARTA raised over $8,000 to invest in education, Kemmeter added.
A new location for the SPARTA book sales has yet to be determined and they still have about 7,000 books at Jackson.
Anyone with information on a new location for the SPARTA book sales can contact Nancy at (715) 344-2598.
Jackson Elementary School is located at 1900 W. Zinda Drive in Stevens Point.
