A Plover man pleaded no contest in on Tuesday for the 2012 robbery of Bootleggers Bar in Amherst.
Court documents indicate Luke Wojtalewicz, 36, along with his 20-year-old girlfriend Brittney Suchon, of Stevens Point, allegedly conspired to steal money and liquor from the Amherst bar after it closed on September 30, 2012.
In a plea agreement with the Portage County Prosecutor’s office, Wojtalewicz was found guilty of one count of a felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of misdemeanor theft. Other charges of possession of a firearm and one count of burglary were dismissed as a part of the agreement.
Wojtalewicz, who is already serving time on a prescription drug fraud conviction, could face up to 14 years in prison and a $25,000 fine for the firearm possession.
Suchon, who worked at Bootlegger’s on Hwy. Q pleaded no contest to misdemeanor theft charges in the case back in December 0f 2013. She was sentenced to two and a half years probation and ordered to pay restitution to the victims.
Wojtalewicz will be sentenced on September 10.
