The Alzheimer’s Association is hosting a Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team Kick-Off on Wednesday, June 24.
The kickoff is being held 5-7 PM at Buffalo Wild Wings, 5370 Highway 10 East. Customers presenting an “Eat Wings, Raise Funds” ticket will see portion of their food sale donated to the local Walk event. Tickets are available by emailing Kathy Davies at email@example.com.
The June 24 team kickoff event is a chance to meet representatives from the Alzheimer’s Association and members of the local planning committee, as well as sign-up for the September Walk and learn more about how funds are used locally. Attendees can also purchase a ticket to “Eat Wings, Raise Funds” in advance to help raise funds to the September Walk.
The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is scheduled for Saturday, September 19 at Village Park in Plover.
“There has never been a greater need for people to join in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease,” said Davies, who works with the Alzheimer’s Association. “Funds raised will provide care and support services to residents across Central Wisconsin who are living with Alzheimer’s, while also contributing to advancing critically-needed research.”
Alzheimer’s disease is a growing epidemic and is now the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death. As baby boomers age, the number of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease will rapidly escalate, increasing well beyond today’s estimated 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s.
