Tanner B. Simonis, 12, of Custer, died Monday, June 15, 2015, as the result of an ATV accident.
He was born on Aug. 1, 2002, in Stevens Point, to Jeremy and Elizabeth (Higgins-Kizewski) Simonis and had just completed 6th grade at Sacred Heart School. He would have been entering 7th grade at P.J. Jacobs Junior High School this fall.
His interests included fishing, hunting, the outdoors, Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Survivors include his parents, Jeremy and Elizabeth, and siblings, Emily and Casey all of Custer; paternal grandparents, Bryon and Laurie Simonis of Custer; maternal grandparents, James and Linda Kizewski of Rosholt; paternal great-grandmother, Romona Lilla of Custer; maternal great-grandparents, Jess and Ramona Higgins of Plover; aunts and uncles, Nicole, Amanda and Brooke Simonis, Mary (Matt) Stein, Richard (Tara) Kizewski and James Jr. (Trina) Kizewski; and six cousins.
Tanner was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather, Ervin Lilla; paternal great-grandparents, Fritz and Beatrice Simonis; and maternal great-grandparents, Donald and Alice Kizewski.
The family thanks the first responders, paramedics, Fr. Gregory Michaud, his two aunts and grandfather for their assistance.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia with the Rev. Gregory Michaud officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 4 PM. Thursday at Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Road in Plover, and will conclude with the rosary being prayed at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held on Friday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time for Mass. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the family.
