For the City Times
A new exhibit opens Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Riverfront Arts Center.
The Visions XVII exhibit has been a juried exhibit held annually since the gallery opened in spring 1999.
Nearly 170 pieces of artwork were submitted by 88 artists. A total of 82 pieces were accepted. The exhibit runs from June 25 – July 26.
The Visions exhibit is much anticipated by area artists. It is an opportunity to show their recent work with themes and mediums open to the artist’s interpretation- or Vision.
The diversity of artists and their chosen mediums provide a wide range of pieces for the viewer to enjoy.
Professor Kitty Kingston, who has been teaching Art at the UW College Art Department at Marshfield campus since 1989, was the juror for this exhibit. Kingston chose among the large selection of submissions to create a cohesive gallery exhibit.
“I was impressed with the quality of work submitted- it was diverse and varied in style and expression,” Kingston said. “It is always rewarding and thrilling to see artwork that shows strength and individuality.”
The Riverfront Arts Center is located at 1200 Crosby Ave. near downtown Stevens Point.
