Father Worzalla was born on October 23, 1924, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, to John and Caroline (Kroll) Worzalla. He attended P. J. Jacobs High School, Stevens Point. He entered seminary and attended St Mary, Orchard Lake, MI and the Catholic University of America, Washington D.C. to earn his Master of Arts Degree. Continuing at Catholic University of America, he earned a Licentiate in Sacred Theology (S.T.L.). Father Worzalla was ordained on June 3, 1950, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay, by Bishop Stanislaus Bona.
Upon ordination, Father Worzalla was appointed to serve as Assistant at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Green Bay. He then served as Assistant at St. John Nepomucene Parish, Little Chute. In 1952, Father Dennis began ten years of service as Chaplain at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh, and as a member of the teaching staff of Mercy School of Nursing. Father’s next appointment was Chaplain and a member of the teaching staff at Silver Lake College, Manitowoc (formerly known as Holy Family College), where he served from 1962 to 1969. He also served as Spiritual Director at Sacred Heart Seminary, Oneida. In 1969, Father Worzalla was appointed Administrator at St. Denis Parish, Shiocton, and later that year, he was appointed as Pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Wautoma, where he served for fifteen years. His final appointment was as Pastor of St. Mary Parish, Bear Creek, where he served from 1985 until his retirement in 1994. Other appointments include Vicar of Vicariate IV (1971) and a member of the Diocesan Board of Consultors (1971).
He is survived by many Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by 1 infant brother, 5 brothers: Edmund, Richard, Erwin, Norbert Worzalla & Vincent Kroll. 2 sisters: Loretta Ropella & Alice Foster.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 18 at Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point, from 4:00 p.m. concluding with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday morning June 19, 2015 from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 800 Fourth Avenue , Stevens Point.
The Funeral Liturgy, expressing our faith and our hope in the promised glory of the Lord’s Resurrection, will take place on Friday, June 19, 2015, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Peter Catholic Church, 800 Fourth Avenue in Stevens Point, with Bishop Robert F.
