Paddle In The Park: After an investigation of a reported suspicious vehicle at Lower Whiting Park, police discovered it belonged to two men who were canoeing in the park at 1:42 AM.
Speedometer Fail: Police stopped a 47-year-old woman for speeding on Cty. Rd. F and Prairie Dr. in Wisconsin Rapids. The driver’s speedometer was reportedly malfunctioning and police issued a warning for speed and the defective speedometer.
Unsafe Shopping: A 29-year-old man was reported at 2:24 PM to be intoxicated and attempting to buy guns and ammo at multiple Stevens Point sporting goods store. Police attempted to locate the man but were unable to make contact.
Welfare Check: A welfare check at 3:06 PM of an abandoned 911 caller, a crying female, turned up no results of the caller on the 1600 block of 130th St. in Wisconsin Rapids.
Cremains Controversy: A dispute over cremated remains on the 8400 block of Arbor Ln. in Wisconsin Rapids, led a 35-year-old man to call police. Police informed the caller that this was a civil matter and should be taken up elsewhere.
Not So Loud Music: A 52-year-old Stevens Point man complained to police about loud music coming from Jordan Bar on the 5600 block of Hwy. 66. Police informed the complainant that the music was not abnormally loud.
