Stevens Point Police Officer Paul Piotrowski addresses a group of second grade students from a summer program at McKinley Elementary.
The students made it to the city’s police station slightly water-logged thanks to extended periods of heavy rain on Monday.
“They like the [squad] cars,” he said. “That’s probably their favorite thing, to see where the bad guys sit and all the doo-dads in the front.”
Piotwoski said he was giving additional second grade tours through most of the week. The tours were an important element for the department’s community service, he said, and the students’ presence in the station always lightens the mood for officers.
