Julie A. Lansing, age 73 of Stevens Point, passed away July 12, 2015 at the University of Wisconsin – Madison Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Julie will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday July 17, 2015 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. Rev. Greg Michaud will officiate. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 9:30 – 10:45 AM on Friday at the church. Shuda Funeral Services of Plover are assisting the family.
Julie was born August 29, 1941 in Portage , WI , the daughter of Leonard and Bernadine (Stockhausen) Statz. She graduated from Portage High School and from the Mercy Hospital School Of Nursing in Janesville. She was actively employed as a registered nurse in numerous specialty arenas throughout her 44 year career. She was a member of the American Nurses Association, Emergency Nurses Association, AORN, Wisconsin Association of Continuity of Care, and Quality Assurance for Portage County Home Health.
She married Karl Garson on October 25, 1964, the couple later divorced. She married Richard Lansing on February 3, 1981 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Julie enjoyed reading, crafting, LIFE Classes, volunteering at St.Bronislava Church , and was a strong supporter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fundraiser, the Ronald McDonald House, and The St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Julie is survived by 2 sons: Nicholas K. (Sally) Lansing, Duluth, MN and David A. (Michelle) Lansing , Almond. 3 step-sons: Stephan Lansing, Stevens Point; Matthew (Lisa) Lansing , Stevens Point and Nicholas F. (Misty Sorenson) Lansing, Nekoosa. 2 step-daughters: Colleen (Marty) McGough, Birmingham MI ; and Rachel (Peter) Duke, Bedford Park , Bedford UK. Her brother: William (Kathy) Statz, Pardeeville. 3 sisters: Barbara Ode, Milwaukee; Carol McCann, Eau Claire; Marjorie (Richard) Craemer, Oconomowoc. 16 grandchildren: Clare, Maureen, Brian, Jack, Elia, Anna, Aidan, Olivia, Dylan, Amanda, Marcus, Hannah, Benjamin, Ava, Max, and Avianna. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Henry, and her husband Richard in 1996.
Memorials may be made out to the Childrens Miracle Network St. Joseph’s Foundation or to the Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield.
