To the Editor-
Ms. Tiffany, in response to your letter, ‘Respect Has No Party Lines.’ How is one to give respect when respect is not given back? Have you thought for a second that is why the person doing the booing is because of how disrespectful ‘that party’ has been to veterans?
As a veteran I have watched how ‘that party’ continues to promote wars and then de-fund programs to help returning veterans. Yet, I can see why you may not understand since corporate mass media can’t get it right either.
Case in point is the 60 Minutes section on the VA. The segment focused on the bureaucracy of the agency rather than the root cause of the long waits and bad service. The under-funding by ’that party’ is the reason why middle management were fudging reports.
And since I have your attention I would like to challenge you to explain why any person that is ’working for a living’ and truly ’taking what their given’ would ever consider voting for ’that party’? ‘That party’ has attacked every level of the working class from university professors on down to those making less than a living wage.
‘That party’ has also repealed equal pay for equal work. Have you ever noticed the bigotry that is running deep in its veins towards minorities? Corruption is everywhere with favoritism going to their political donors. Sleazy back door policies are the norm with no regard to the public’s best interest.
They have gerrymandered the system so a majority vote doesn’t get majority representation. Most have pledged to the oligarchs to only promote the interest of the ultra rich. Or if a member of ‘that party’ doesn’t follow the wishes of that party, they will be primary-ed out of office.
Money if so flush in ‘that party’ that they believe they can blanket the airwaves with deceptive ads just before an election and win. To be very blunt, the party that you sympathize for is really bad at running the government. They have made a mockery of the laws. ‘That party’ is so bad people abroad and here want their last president to be brought up on war crimes. How bad can ‘that party’ get before we vote that whole party out of office?
I am not one to boo this party in a parade but I have turned my back to them as they have walked by. But in the next Labor Day parade I ask ‘that party’ to NOT walk in it because ‘that party’ has caused Wisconsin’s middle class to shrink faster than any other state in the country.
