Facing some of the best rushing in the conference, SPASH emerged victorious over its 2015 Homecoming game against the Marshfield Tigers 48-21.
The win makes the Panthers eligible for conference playoffs.
But the scoreboard looked very different in the first quarter, which found the Panthers trailing 14-0. The lead was answered was the powerhouse running back team of Victor Kizewski and Gus Turner-Zick, who ran for a combined 272 yards and scored five touchdowns.
But the game wasn’t devoid of some problems. The 4,000-plus crowd, along with coach Pete McAdams, had their share of choice words for game officials over a number of calls, including one of targeting against SPASH’s Patrick Dietzman. Dietzman was ejected from the game with about 1:30 remaining, and will also miss the team’s next game against Oshkosh West.
SPASH now improves its overall records to 5-2. The Panthers next take on Oshkosh West at Goerke Park at 5 PM.
