A Stevens Point man has been accused of sexually assaulting his developmentally-delayed stepdaughter.
Jack Ingram, 46, appeared via video from the Portage County Jail on Monday to face charges he sexually assaulted the 21-year-old woman.
According to the criminal complaint, Ingram was arrested October 16 from his home on 3100 block of Michigan Ave., where he allegedly touched the woman inappropriately as she undressed in the bathroom. He then told her to keep the incident a secret, according to the complaint.
The woman’s mother told police both she and the victim were afraid of Ingram, and that he had threatened them previously. She also told police Ingram had several firearms in his possession. One weapon was recovered by police from the home.
Assistant District Attorney Cass Cousin requested a $10,000 cash bond, saying the DA’s Office anticipated filing charges of 3rd degree sexual assault.
Judge Robert Shannon ordered Ingram be held on the $10,000 cash bond and that he have no contact with the victim, her mother or their residence. He was also ordered to maintain absolute sobriety.
Ingram is scheduled for an initial appearance in Portage County Court on October 26.
