A branch of the Wausau-based Bone and Joint Center is moving forward with plans to open in Plover.
A site plan for the new clinic, which specializes in orthopedic care and pain management, was unanimously approved by the Village of Plover Plan Commission on November 2. The clinic will also include physical therapy and surgery operations.
“We’re very excited about this facility.” said Village of Plover Administrator Dan Mahoney. “We think that not only does it do a wonderful job for Village Park at Plover and the Village of Plover as a whole, but it kind of gives a new professional look with respect to development in the village.”
The new clinic will be located at 1767 Park Ave. in Village Park near Mark Toyota.
“We put our new facility in Plover because we have a lot of outreach. We have a lot of patients who come and travel into Wausau,” said Bone and Joint CEO Terry Lawrence. “We surveyed the community and they were requesting us to come in for our high-quality service.”
He said patients choose the clinic because of their personalized care, quick service and treatment plans.
Mahoney said the clinic has proposed an “aggressive” construction schedule, and Lawrence confirmed construction is expected to be complete between May and July 2016.
Lawrence said he expects the 15,444-square-foot building to expand about three years following initial construction.
The clinic’s site plan goes to the Plover Village Board for final approval at their meeting on November 4 at 6 PM. The board meets in the conference room of the Plover Village Hall located at 2400 Post Rd.
