To the Editor-
Today (Jan. 13, 2016) after some reflection I realize that I made a very big mistake at the January 11, 2016 school board meeting.
I had made some promises when I ran for the board and that was to be your representative (the community) on the board.
Sometimes an item comes up that I am very passionate about; I talk before I think.
I want to apologize to the entire board and the community for saying, “I am ashamed to be a part of this board.”
I am not ashamed to be part of this board and I am very glad to see that this board has come a long way towards showing our community and most of all our students how adults should act.
Please accept my humble apology, but be assured that I will fight for this district and keeping the Stevens Point Area Public School District the best school district in the state.
Weather the vote goes the way I would like it to, or not, I stand firmly in line with my fellow board members behind the decisions that we make.
Thank you Trish Baker for giving our employees some time to look to the future and make an informed decision.
Please remember that I am just a phone call away if anyone in the community needs some help or information. If I am unable to help you I may be able to at least let you know who to contact to get the process started.
I have no special authority as a school board member. My only authority is when we meet and then I am just 1 voice of 9 in our district.
