I am writing in support of Trish Baker for Circuit Court judge.
Early in my law enforcement career, Trish handled several of my cases. Since I was new to law enforcement, I needed some guidance in the courtroom setting, and Trish provided it expertly. Her vast knowledge and experience, along with patience and understanding, honed her skills in law. This, in part, developed her ability to better understand law and apply it fairly and evenly. By all means, Trish is fair and unbiased, which, in today’s world, is a needed commodity.
Trish is not only extremely knowledgeable in law, but she also considers the tax payers, too. Her reduction in the Clerk of Courts staff for Portage County has saved the tax payer thousands of dollars.
Additionally, she has brought the Clerk of Courts office up to speed by allowing electronic access to legal materials, reducing the cost of electronic legal research by over $6,000.00 annually, and implemented a variety of statutory fees for increased revenue. While Trish holds a law degree, she is also service minded when it comes to the community.
Trish is also heavily involved in the community, too. Currently, Trish serves on the Stevens Point Area Public School District Board of Education as treasurer, an elected trustee of the Village of Park Ridge, and president of the Rotary Club of Greater Portage County. Trish is committed to her community as well as the understanding of law.
In my view, Trish would make an excellent Circuit Court judge with her background. Value driven, community minded and fiscally prudent, Trish is the best candidate for Circuit Court judge.
