To the Editor-
There is a primary coming up on Feb. 16 and I want to tell you about Judge (Robert) Shannon.
My husband Bill and I had the opportunity to be neighbors with Judge Shannon and his wife Ann for over a decade, as the young couple began their life together in Stevens Point on Robert Street.
Bob was a young attorney at the Anderson Law Firm and Ann worked in the community development office. The busy couple were blessed with two sons, and as the boys grew, so did their careers and dedication to this community.
Like so many of us in Portage County, hard honest work, personal responsibility and being kind and considerate to neighbors are values we take very seriously and hold dear. Values (that) Bill and I witnessed for years in Judge Shannon.
Bob was always there to lend a helpful hand when needed, or indulge us with a humorous story. His easy-going nature was often on display as he patiently played with the boys in his yard.
His many years as a respected practicing attorney certainly qualifies him for this important position, but it is his character and the man he has become that impresses me most.
We are fortunate to have a man like Judge Shannon sitting on the bench willing and able to serve out community. He is the right person for circuit court judge and has my full support and my vote.
