The SPASH Gymnastics team punched its ticket to the WIAA State Gymnastics Meet winning the Eau Claire Memorial Sectional this past weekend with 137.50 points.
Galesville-Ettrick-Trempeleau finished second with 135.825 points.
SPASH will compete in the team competition Friday, March 4 at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School starting at 2:00 PM.
Senior Lacie Ligman and Sophomore Olivia Clemens will return to the floor on Saturday to compete in the individual competition. Saturday’s session gets underway at 11:00 AM.
Clemens came through the sectional meet finishing third in the vault (9.100), second in the uneven bars (8.675), and balance beam (8.975), fourth in floor exercise (9.20) and second in all-around (35.95).
Ligman scored a fifth place finish on the balance beam (8.8), fourth in floor exercise (9.20), and fourth in all-around (34.525).
The Panthers compete in the Great Northern Conference taking first place at the conference meet this year in the Large School Division.
Named to the All-Conference second team was Olivia Clemens on the balance beam (8.650), uneven bars (8.225), vault (9.050), and all-around (34.90). Ligman received second place honors in the floor exercise (9.025) and honorable mention in all-around (33.950). Teammate Renee Hinchcliffe was named honorable mention on the balance beam (8.475).
SPASH finished eighth in the 2015 WIAA State Gymnastics Meet.
