Marjorie A. Tylka, age 91, of Whiting, died February 29, 2016 at Tanglewood (Maple Ridge) Assisted Living of Plover, where she resided for the past year.
Marjorie was born on June 14, 1924 to the late Frank & Pearl Somers in Stevens Point. She attended St Peter Catholic School and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1942.
Marjorie married Joseph Tylka at St. Peter’s Church on October 16, 1948. Marjorie and Joe settled in Whiting where they lived for their entire lives.
Marjorie was employed in the office of Lullabye Furniture Corporation for 27 years.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed traveling, fishing, and boating. Marjorie was also a dedicated member of St Stephen Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; two brothers, Alfred and Harold; and her parents.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Rev. Jerzy Rebacz presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass in Guardian Angel Cemetery
