It will be a busy day for the city’s Redevelopment Authority on Tuesday, when the group is being asked to approve — among other things — a new hotel in the Downtown.
Cobblestone Hotel Development LLC, of Neenah, is proposing a 60-unit hotel be developed on what is currently parking lot space between Shopko and Mid-State Technical College.
The proposal includes an option to purchase the land through Aug. 30, giving the developer time to create a former site plan, conduct testing and determine financial needs for the project.
Community Development Director Michael Ostrowski, if approved, the property would have a new address — 1117 Centerpoint Dr. — but he noted the design plans coming before the RA on Thursday were general and were likely to change.
Cobblestone has budget hotels in Clintonville, Neenah and Oshkosh.
The RA meets at 4 PM on Thur., March 15, in the City Conference Room of the courthouse, 1515 Strongs Avenue. The public is welcome to attend.
