Avanell A. Haas, age 81, of Stevens Point, died March 20, 2016 at St. Michaels Hospital in Stevens Point.
Ava was born November 27, 1934 to the late John & Ruby (Parks) Bennett Sr. in Plover, WI. She grew up there, attended the local schools, and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School.
Ava married Richard Haas January 14, 1956 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Stevens Point. He preceded her in death July 18, 1989.
Ava was a proud homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her three sons. She late found work Del Monte until becoming employed with Basic American Potato. She retired after 27 years.
Ava will be remembered for her compassionate, care taking attitude. She always put others first. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, traveling, shopping and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Timothy Haas of Stevens Point, Robert (Ella) Haas of Stevens Point, Todd Haas; daughter-in-law, Lynn (Muhammad) Nazami of Stevens Point; grandchildren, Jessica Stogner, Tyler Haas, Jeremy Haas, Allison Haas, Rochelle Nazami; Noah Nazami; great-granddaughter, Alaunna Stogner; and brother, Carl Bennett.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; and brothers, John Bennett Jr. and Curl Bennett.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2016 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Hintzman presiding. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be held in Restlawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made to www.bostonfuneralhome.net.
