The Central Wisconsin Drug Task Force has taken at least two people into custody and confiscated thousands of dollars in illegal narcotics following searches of three local drug houses.
Operating on information obtained during the course of an ongoing investigation, Plover police searched a home on the 3000 block of Revere Rd. in Plover on Aug. 23. During that operation officers seized more than 200 marijuana plants, 14 grams of harvested marijuana, .3 grams of methamphetamine and seven hits of LSD.
Police say a 34-year-old woman was home at the time the warrant was served, along with two minor children. The woman’s identity has not yet been released.
“It is important to point out the dangers associated with clandestine [or] indoor grow operations which include the dangers of the pesticides, highly elevated levels of mold spores, increased fire hazards, etc.,” said Plover Police Chief Dan Ault in a news release, who added that cases was assisted by detectives from Stevens Point.
Ault said the odor of marijuana was “so strong it could be detected outside the residence, near the road”.
“Exposing children to not only the illegal drugs, but also those high levels of odor in such close proximity is very concerning,” he said. “Our drug guys did a great job on these cases.”
In a separate investigation, police also searched two other homes in Plover — one on the 1100 block of Emerald Dr. and another on the 1100 block of Dodds Drive. That investigation was undertaken by officers from Stevens Point and Plover; law enforcement the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin Rapids Police Dept. were also present to assist.
Among the items located and seized was 56 grams of methamphetamine, 99.8 grams of THC and $24,023 in cash.
Two men were arrested following the searches. A 34-year-old, Pao Vue Xion of Plover, was arrested for possession w/intent to deliver meth amphetamine over 50 grams; Fuchee Daniel Mouanoutoua, 28, was taken into custody on a probation violation pending charges for maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession of THC with intent to deliver.
More as we have it.
