The Pacelli Catholic Schools (PCS) central office is moving.
The office will relocated less than a mile away for its current location — 1004 First St. — to a new office constructed inside Pacelli High School, located at 1301 Maria Drive.
Part of its ongoing “Pride in Our Past…Faith in Our Future” capital campaign, PCS said the move helped the district become more efficient.
Hannah Henderson, director of advancement for Catholic school district, called the move a “no-brainer”.
“[It is] strengthening the ties between our staff and students, and between our community and schools,” Henderson said. “Not to mention the obvious cost-savings in no longer renting office space.”
As the capital campaign continues, other buildings will also be structured, she added.
Director of Education Gregg Hansel said the district is also planning to create a new childcare center, saying it is currently often at maximum capacity.
“We see that as a real need for the community that we can help fill,” Hansel said. “We have a plan in place for a new, bigger childcare center to continue serving the youngest members of our Pacelli Catholic Schools family in an even greater way.”
The current location of the PCS office will remain open during regular business hours — 7:30 AM through 4 PM — until Thursday, Oct. 27. The office will close Friday, Oct. 28 and reopen Tuesday, Nov. 1 at the new location.
The office will have a separate entrance at Pacelli High School, preventing the general public from gaining access to the school. Visitors may either park in the visitor spots in the main lot or in one of the designated 15 minute parking spots in front of the school on Maria Drive.
The PCS Central Office houses finance and development departments, as well as serving as the school system’s hub of information and gift card sales.
