Nathan Wallin (left) and Heidi Oberstadt were conducting exit polls outside of the District 11 polling place on Nov. 8.
Oberstadt, a Stevens Point councilwoman, and Wallin are both graduate students at UW-Stevens Point. Both were polling voters as they left the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Tuesday — an assignment for their political science class.
“We’re studying how the campaign has shaped voters’ views,” Oberstadt said. “Most of the questions are related to what specifically helped them make up their minds.”
Under law the two had to remain 100 feet away from the entrance of the building. They approached every third voter and participation was voluntary.
