OWI: A 25-year-old man was arrested for his first offense OWI near Jefferson St. and Frontenac Ave. at 1:21 AM.
Drug Overdose: Police were called to the 900 block of Portage St. at 10:38 AM after a caller reported a possible drug overdose there by a 26-year-old man. Police seized a Samsung S6 phone, a metal spoon with a cotton ball, and a syringe from the scene.
Suspicious Vehicle: An employee of an elementary school on School St. reported seeing a suspicious white Impala drive by the playground on several occasions at 1:02 PM.
Disorderly Conduct: Police cited a 25-year-old man for disorderly conduct following an incident on the 2100 block of Tamarac St.
Out of Pepto: An 81-year-old man told deputies at 2:05 PM he was having “diarrhea issues” and wanted to know what he could take to manage the symptoms.
Harassment: Police were called to the 900 block of Main St. after a caller there reported a man was harassing another man at that address.
Threats: Deputies were called to a home on the 3900 block of Custer Rd. at 4:35 PM after a caller reported a 49-year-old man was threatening the life of a woman in the home.
Vehicle Theft: A 36-year-old man called police at 6:40 PM to report an unknown person had removed his 1993 Ford Explorer from where it was parked on the 1700 block of Fremont. It was not immediately known if the vehicle was recovered.
Suspicious Gunshots: A 73-year-old woman called deputies at 5 PM to report hearing gunshots near her Badger Rd. home in Amherst. She also suspected unsafe hunting practices being utilized, she said.
Noise Complaint: A 55-year-old man called deputies to report his 54-year-old neighbor was using loud machinery, and had flood lights pointed into the caller’s windows, at 8:23 PM on the 1600 block of Woodview Dr.
Lied About Illness: A 60-year-old woman called police because she said her daughter was falsely claiming to suffer from diabetes.
Mailbox Fatality: A 31-year-old woman called deputies at 4:01 PM to report someone had damaged the mailbox at her Helen Ln. home.
Neglectful Mother: A 31-year-old woman called police to report her six-year-old stepdaughter was being neglected by the girl’s birth mother.
OWI: Deputies arrested a 53-year-old woman for operating while intoxicated on Hwy. 54 at 11:22 PM.
Assault: An assault was reported against a 43-year-old man on the 1400 block of Torun Rd.
Officer, Hold My Whiskey: Police arrested a 21-year-old man near Main and Church streets at 2:24 AM following a traffic stop for not having headlights on. The man was arrested for OWI and for having open intoxicants in his vehicle. Police confiscated a 750ML bottle of Kessler Whiskey and a plastic cup he’d been drinking from.
Hit & Run: A 56-year-old man reported a hit and run at Applebee’s on Hwy. 10 East shortly after 1 PM. No further information was immediately available.
Assault: A 59-year-old woman was reportedly assaulted by a 27-year-old woman on the 2000 block of Welsby Ave.
A Whole Heap ‘o Trouble: Police arrested a 27-year-old man near Patch St. and Michigan Ave. at 4:09 AM after finding the man’s vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection. Inside the car, police found a Luger 9mm handgun, .5 grams of cocaine, a cell phone and other items.
Vandalism: A 38-year-old man called police to report someone had thrown pumpkins and eggs on his Prentice St. lawn at 4:47 AM.
Park Closed For Hunting Season: Deputies gave a verbal warning to four men, ages 20, 21 and 22, for being inside Standing Rocks Park at 1:41 PM.
Suspected Break-In: A 27-year-old woman called police to report she suspected someone was breaking into her home with a gun on the 900 block of Sherman Ave. at 3:36 PM. Law enforcement determined the claim was unfounded.
Confused Man: Deputies assisted a 55-year-old man who reportedly was “not making sense” on his Hillcrest Rd. home in Custer. Deputies found there was no heat in the house, and contacted the man’s family.
