The Stevens Point Area Public School District is still accepting applications for a vacant seat on the School Board.
The board has one vacancy to fill for the next five months, when it will be filled in the April, 2017 election. The vacancy on the nine-member board was created when Board Member Sam Levin resigned for health reasons in November.
Administrative Assistant of Business Services, Karlyn Krautkramer, said as of Monday morning no applications have been taken out.
“The board probably has a few options if no one applies,” Krautkramer said. “They can extend the deadline, or just leave the seat vacant as well.”
Interested applicants must be a resident of the district and at least 18 years old.
Applications can be picked up at Bliss Educational Services Center, 1900 Polk St. in Stevens Point, or on the district’s website, www.pointschools.net.
Applicants need to complete and return two forms; the School Board Member Application form and the Declaration of Candidacy by an Elector form.
The deadline to return an application is 4 PM on Dec. 2.
