Pete and Jean Jacoby, and their son Peter III of Stevens Point attended the 58th Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 20.
The family got tickets for the ceremony through Congressman Ron Kind’s office, and watched the swearing-in on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building.
The Jacoby’s were on the same airline flights to and from Reagan National Airport with Wisconsin State Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson and former Governor Tommy Thompson, who all attended the inauguration.
The highlight of the weekend for the family was an invitation by family friend Air Force Technical Sergeant Jeremy W. O’Dell, a native of Wisconsin Rapids, to attend President-elect Trump’s arrival to Washington, D.C. at Joint Base Andrews (Andrews Air Force Base) the day before the inauguration.
O’Dell is a 2001 Lincoln High School graduate and entered the U.S. Air Force on July 3, 2001. He now serves as Assistant NCOIC, Protective Services, which provides ground security for Air Force One and Marine One at Andrews.
