In an effort to help children transition from summer to fall, the Stevens Point Area YMCA will begin its state-licensed before- and after-school child care programs beginning in September.
The Great Escape Program keeps youngsters active, busy and engaged during out-of-school time.
The program serves school-aged children in grades K-6 from Sept. through next June at eight local elementary schools, to include Bannach, Jefferson (morning only), Madison, McDill, McKinley, Plover-Whiting, Roosevelt and Washington.
Before school hours are from 6:30-8:45 AM, while the after school session operates from 3:35-6:00 PM.
The Great Escape program also provides care during many of the scheduled days off school, and during snow days or full-day cancellations due to weather.
