Star Struck got on the board with a run in the bottom of the second following singles by Stephanie Lynne, Kelly Kluck, and Brittany Zarecki.

Struck also picked up one run when Kaitlyn Knutson’s single brought in Stephanie Lynne. Star Struck’s fine comeback shortened Bootlegger’s lead to 9-5 after five. The undefeated Rookie’s Royals exploded for 13 runs in the top of the first as they routed Morey’s, 21-4. The winners had 22 hits to six for Morey’s. The big gun for Morey’s was leftfielder Shannon Hoffman who crushed a three-run homer and later added a double. Jacci Seefeldt, Bailey Hinderman, Val Folan, Erin Laffe (rhymes with “safe”), and Brittany Pepowski paced Rookie’s with three hits apiece. Rookie’s had six walks while winning pitcher Beke Blue walked two (Candice Williams and Brittany Spindle). The Spindle gals (Stephanie and Brittany) also made some fine defensive plays at second and third and Shannon Hoffman handled everything hit to her in left. Rookie’s defense, as usual, was flawless except when pitcher Beke Blue got hit on the head with a pop-up she lost sight of in the lights. Beke said: “What can I say? My mask slipped!”
