Edwin Ostrowski, age 79, of Stevens Point passed away December 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.
A Celebration of Life for Ed will be held at 12PM on Friday December 15, 2017 at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens Point. Friends and family will gather to share memories on Friday at the funeral home from 10-11:45AM.
Ed was born in Milwaukee on August 8, 1938 the son of Joseph and Sally (Fredach) Ostrowski. Ed attended Messmer High School until the age of seventeen when he joined the National Guard in 1955 until 1963. In 1959 Ed started his career as a merchant mariner for US Steel. On February 8, 1964 he married Elizabeth Thrun at Sacred Heart in Polonia. After 46 years of service for US Steel Ed retired and worked for the Stevens Point School District as a bus driver for 12 years into retirement.
Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, cars, and watching TV.
Ed is survived by his wife Elizabeth, 3 daughters: Deanna Deming, Elizabeth (Matthew) Kohnle, and Catherine Ostrowski, 2 sons: Edwin C. Ostrowski, and Andrew (fiance Amber Osowski & her son, Ayden) Ostrowski, 2 brothers: Ronald (Sue Ellen Linville) Ostrowski and Anthony Ostrowski, his sister Barbara Ostrowski, and 2 grandchildren: Claire and Payton Kohnle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law Claudine (Ron Ostrowski) and brother Gene.
