STEVENS POINT — Individuals who wish to vote early in the Spring Election may vote in-person starting Wednesday, March 14. Voters are reminded to bring proper photo identification.
Voters have two options for voting absentee:
The first option is to vote in-person. Beginning Wednesday, March 14, voters can vote at the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall. The office will be open on the following dates and times for in-person absentee voting: City Hall, 1515 Strongs Ave.
-7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, March 14 through March 28
-7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday through Friday, March 29 through March 30
The second option voters have is to submit a written request/application to have an absentee ballot sent to them. Requests to receive an absentee ballot by mail must be received by the Clerk’s Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29. The completed ballot must be received by Election Day, Tuesday, April 3, in order for it to be counted.
Some examples of acceptable Photo IDs include a Wisconsin Driver License, Wisconsin State ID, Wisconsin Driver or State ID receipt, U.S. Passport or Card, U.S. Uniformed Services ID, Tribal ID, Certificate of Naturalization, University or College ID that is voter ID compliant. University or college students who do not have an acceptable form of photo identification for voting purposes can contact their school administration to obtain a voting compliant ID card. Residents who have either moved or changed their name will need to re-register before they will be allowed to vote. Applications for absentee ballots and voter registration are available at the Clerk’s Office and on the City’s website at www.stevenspoint.com.
