STEVENS POINT — Learn about trends in digital media and the basics of social media and website management at the 2018 Central Wisconsin Digital and Social Media Conference at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
The event will be held from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, sponsored by the university’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Business owners, marketing professionals and those responsible for their organization’s or employer’s social and digital media efforts are encouraged to attend.
The conference includes keynote speaker Susan Weinschenk as well as 12 breakout sessions and a post-conference social. Weinschenk’s address, “How to Get People to Do Stuff,” will teach attendees the seven basic drivers of human motivation, tips and techniques to apply them and how to best reach and motivate customers and potential customers to take action.
Weinschenk is an adjunct professor in web and digital media development at UW-Stevens Point and chief behavioral scientist and CEO of The Team W, Inc. She has a Ph.D. in psychology, has authored several books and hosts a podcast.
“Business owners and aspiring business owners will find great value and takeaways from each of the sessions,” said Melissa Meschke, SBDC director. Speakers for the breakout sessions are experienced in business and have come up with a wide variety of topics, including How to Sell to Millennials, Building Two-way Digital Marketing Communication, Cybersecurity, Cultural Trends, and How to Choose the Right Networks, among many others.
Registration is $199, with a student/nonprofit/UW-Stevens Point employee rate of $139. Students not attending meals or the social or current and past SBDC clients may attend for $99. Registration closes Friday, March 30. For more information and to register for the conference, go to www.uwsp.edu/CWDSMC or call 715-346-3838.
